They are also proudly collaborating with Grammy-affiliated Producer Brad Grobler from BIG PRODUCTIONS, further solidifying their position on the global music stage.
ABFAB has been interviewed on prominent radio stations including KFM, One FM, Knysna FM, and East Coast Radio, and delivered a memorable live performance on DSTV’s CTV My City Arts & Culture Program.

Wide Open Spaces
ABFAB is set to release their highly anticipated third single, “Wide Open Spaces,” on Friday, January 30, 2026. Following the growing momentum of their previous releases, this track positions itself as the ultimate Cape Town summer anthem—a “windows down, volume up” celebration of freedom.
The Sound
Produced by Brad Grobler at Lab Records, the Netherlands, “Wide Open Spaces” delivers a polished, grown-up Indie-Pop Folk sound. Sonically, the track has been described as “Taylor Swift meets Pink,” blending storytelling lyricism with a driving, radio-friendly energy. It is a sonic departure from standard pop, offering a chill-out, lo-fi aesthetic perfect for road trip playlists.
The Story
The song draws on a rich history of friendship and the need for escape.
The Nostalgia: For band members Sean Nunan and Brad Grobler, the song is a throwback to their days on the road during the legendary “Storm Super Tour.” It captures the kinetic energy of touring and the bond formed in transit.
The Lyrical Heart: The lyrics are born from a writing journey by vocalist Lisa Hugo. Inspired by a deep-seated love for Family, nature and the open road, the song articulates the universal urge to break free from the daily grind and find clarity in the “wide open spaces” of the South African landscape.
“This isn’t just a track; it’s a celebration of the Cape Town spirit,” says the band. “We wanted to capture that specific feeling of good friends, long drives, and the freedom of the open road. It’s the sound of our upcoming album, ‘Unfinished Business,’ coming to life.”
‘Tequila Nights’
“Tequila nights” features the powerful vocal talents of renowned Cape Town singer Robbie Ferns on backing vocals. ABFAB is a local institution, known for their relentless live performances, often playing four to five nights a week. “Tequila Nights” was born from their desire to add a high-octane, feel-good song to their repertoire—a track
specifically crafted for their dedicated fans and the electric atmosphere of their live shows.
“We wanted to write a song that’s pure fun, something that gets everyone on their feet and ready to party,” says Lisa Mynx Hugo. “It’s a tribute to those great nights out and the amazing energy we feel with our fans.”
The song captures the essence of a Cape Town summer—full of life, spontaneity, and a whole lot of rock and roll. Its infectious rhythm and sing-along chorus are a perfect addition to any party playlist, marking it as a definite highlight for the upcoming season.
“Tequila Nights” was produced by Brad Grobler (Big Productions) and is being released by Lab Records (NL) in the Netherlands, with a simultaneous international release.

Debut Single: ‘Wake Up!’
“Wake Up” is a hard-hitting rock anthem about becoming acutely aware of your surroundings, stepping up, and truly living in the moment because, as the lyrics proclaim, you only get one life – so live it!
The song, originally penned by Lisa, draws inspiration from life’s tough knocks. It has been meticulously edited and arranged into its final form through a collaborative effort between Lisa, Sean, and their good friend, the renowned Dutch producer Brad Grobler (also known for his work with Sean in the band Shout!).
This Release marks a significant milestone for ABFAB Duo, a hard-hitting and compelling blend of raw energy and insightful lyricism.
